Team USA Para Badminton Player / FBA Para Badminton Advisor
From tragedy to triumph — in 1996, a car accident left Amy Burnett paralyzed, altering the course of her life. Yet amidst the adversity, she found a newfound strength and determination. In 2016, she discovered para-badminton, and the sport's combination of skill, strategy, and physical demands resonated deeply. She quickly established herself as a formidable force in the WH1 category, representing the United States at the Parapan American Games, World Para-Badminton Championships, and numerous international tournaments. Beyond her athletic achievements, Burnett is a passionate advocate for para-sports and disability rights, using her platform to raise awareness, inspire others, and challenge stereotypes.

Coach Della has many years of coaching experience, working with numerous young players at various levels. Over the past 11 years, she has coached, sparred, and worked with players in different age groups, providing her with even more motivation to continue fulfilling her students' dreams of becoming top players at national and international levels. A former Indonesian National Team member and Djarum Badminton Club product, Della brings elite-level competitive experience to her coaching at Frisco Badminton Academy, where she has served as Head Coach since 2021.

Paris 2024 · Paralympic Silver · Order of Ikkos

Then they turned around and gave their coach a medal of his own. Abhishek Ahlawat received the Order of Ikkos — the USOPC’s highest honor for a coach, and the only award an athlete can bestow on their mentor. First coach of Indian origin to receive it for Team USA Badminton.

The Frisco Network
Frisco Badminton is the parent brand and flagship HQ. Austin Badminton Academy operates three locations across the Austin metro — Round Rock, Leander, and Pflugerville. Argyle Sports Academy — currently under construction, opening late 2026 — joins the family as our first dual-sport (badminton + pickleball) venue with 14 courts across 26,000 sqft. All four are run by the same ownership and share coaching staff, training methodology, and competitive pipeline.

Non-Profit
Frisco Badminton believes in Badminton Gold Quest, a non-profit dedicated to providing badminton scholarships for U.S. athletes who otherwise couldn’t afford elite-level training or tournament participation. Every dollar goes directly to tuition, equipment, and tournament travel.
“Badminton Gold Quest opened the door to elite coaching for kids whose families couldn’t have afforded it otherwise. That pipeline is how you go from zero American badminton medals to two.”
